What a Wonderful World

Shannon and Heath are adventurers, and wanted to capture a beautiful anniversary hike on canvas.

This photo was taken on day 6 of an 11 day hike they completed along the south half of the Colorado Trail in August 2023. This particular day, they hiked from Spring Creek Pass to Cataract Lake, a stretch that includes the highest point along the CT. It was a challenging but gorgeous day, with wonderful views of the terrain above Lake City. They managed to get their tent set up at Cataract Lake right before some pretty incredible thunderstorms rolled through! They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot to spend their anniversary, while talking about some of the amazing walks they’ve completed together over the years.

I felt honored to capture this personal moment of strength and resilience on canvas for them.
